The integration of artificial intelligence into everyday life is an imminent phenomenon that is transforming healthcare systems, which urgently requires the development of new technological competencies in health students. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the scientific production, impact, and thematic evolution of studies on artificial intelligence applied to nursing education published in Scopus-indexed journals during the period 2020–2024. A bibliometric study with a quantitative approach was conducted. A total of 45 articles were included. Metadata extraction and cleaning were carried out using Python and Publish or Perish. In addition, VOSviewer was used to visualize bibliometric networks, and the PRISMA 2020 criteria were applied. The findings revealed an exponential growth in scientific production since 2023. The impact analysis identified an h-index of 25, and computational modeling differentiated two approaches: general AI and the use of ChatGPT. Five thematic axes were identified: pedagogical innovation (31.1%); scientific mapping (26.7%); curriculum reform and competencies (20.0%); immersive simulation (11.1%); and cyber-ethics and risk management (11.1%). AI makes pedagogical reforms necessary through curriculum updates and greater flexibility in educational regulations. The study limitations include the exclusive use of Scopus and the time range analyzed.
