The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between knowledge of contraceptive methods and sexual health among adolescents in secondary school. The research was conducted using a quantitative, applied approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational design. The population consisted of adolescent students from a single school; the sample included 211 participants aged 14 to 18 years. Data were collected through a survey that assessed aspects related to knowledge of sexual and reproductive health practices. The results showed that the age of sexual debut and the number of sexual partners increased progressively with age. Additionally, high school students demonstrated greater knowledge of contraceptive methods compared to those in middle school. A positive correlation was identified between having received information about sexually transmitted infections and knowledge of contraception. Although a considerable number reported knowing about contraceptive methods, they continued to engage in risky behaviors by not using protection and having multiple partners. It is established that age, educational level, and access to information about sexuality significantly influence adolescents’ knowledge and preventive practices. The findings reveal the need to implement ongoing educational strategies that reinforce the adoption of responsible sexual behaviors that contribute to the prevention of sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies.
